The Epson DX5 Eco-Solvent Printhead is a genuine, Japanese-manufactured MicroPiezo replacement printhead built for high-speed, high-resolution eco-solvent and mild-solvent wide-format printing. Engineered with solvent-resistant internal manifolds and durable seal materials, this original unencrypted (unlocked) head features 8 nozzle channels with 180 nozzles per line, providing a total of 1,440 active nozzles. Utilizing Variable-Sized Droplet Technology, it fires droplets from 1.5 picoliters up to 21 picoliters at an 8 kHz firing frequency, producing sharp image detail and vibrant color transitions at native resolutions up to 1,440 dpi.

• Unencrypted / Decoder-Free Compatibility: This printhead model is unencrypted (unlocked) and compatible with all DX5-based Chinese printer mainboards without requiring external decoder boards or firmware bypasses.

• Incompatibility Notice for Mutoh & Mimaki: Do not install this head on Mutoh ValueJet or Mimaki JV33 / JV5 printers. Japanese OEM equipment operates on different voltage drive profiles and head ID parameters, which will cause poor image output or electrical failure. Dedicated Mutoh and Mimaki printheads should be used for those brand machines.

• Data Cable Replacement: Replacing flat flexible printhead data cables (FFC) during installation is strongly advised. Aged, flexed, or ink-contaminated head cables are a primary cause of electrical short circuits that can destroy the printhead and mainboard.
